Today (March 12, 2021) marks a special day for Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo). This day 20 years ago (March 12, 2001 – March 12, 2021), the late Prime Minister Phan Van Khai officially ordered the start of construction of Phu My Fertilizer Plant — the first-ever gas-based Urea plant in Vietnam. Three years later, the desolate site turned into the most modern downstream production facility in the region with a capacity of 740 KT of urea per year, meeting almost the country's need for urea.
Prime Minister Phan Van Khai kicked off the construction of Phu My Fertilizer Plant.
Since then, Phu My Fertilizer Plant has been operating safely and stably, fulfilling and exceeding set output targets. So far, Phu My Fertilizer Plant has considerably contributed to the balance of domestic fertilizer market, saving hundreds of millions of dollars spent for fertilizer imports each year. The brand "Phu My Fertilizer" keeps being the first choice of, trusted and loved by farmers, and keeps being voted as one among top national brands of Vietnam.
