PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee successfully held the 9thLuong Dinh Cua Award Ceremony to honor 150 rural youths with ​​outstanding achievements in production and business. The program was organized solemnly in Ha Hoi on 27/09/2014 and directly broadcast on VTV1 channel – Vietnam Television.

Participants in the program included Mr. Vu Van Ninh – Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue – Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of Central Economic Commission; Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh – Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, on the part of the Party and the Government; and Mr. Cao Hoai Duong – President & CEO of PVFCCo.

The program honored 150 typical youths in the agricultural sector, including 24 ethnic minority youths, from 18 to 35 years old, selected from 59 provinces and cities across the country. These youths gained outstanding achievements in production, business, transfer of technical and technological advances, environmental protection, and construction of new rural areas. The enterprises and models of these 150 youths had created jobs for more than 1,200 regular workers and tens of thousands of seasonally working days, and positively contributed to the local socioeconomic development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, President & CEO of PVFCCo emphasized: Well aware that the agriculture is one of the pillars of the national economy and the development of PVFCCo always accompanies Vietnam’s development of agriculture and rural areas, PVFCCo has been sponsoring the Luong Dinh Cua Award for 9 consecutive years with a desire to honor, encourage, support dreams and ambitions of rural youths nationwide, contributing to the strong drive in the mission of building new rural areas, applying science and technology to improve productivity and quality in an effort to bring strong changes to Vietnam rural areas.

The Luong Dinh Cua Award is named after the Labour Hero – Agronomist with great contributions to the country”s agricultural sector, initiated from 2006 and considered as one of the most prestigious national awards held by Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee. As the Award sponsor for 9 years, PVFCCo in cooperation with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee has awarded prizes to 1500 typical youths with the total expenditure of more than VND 14 billion. Through this program, PVFCCo wishes to realize its commitments to working closely with the rural youths nationwide in promoting their youth strength and creativity in order to enrich themselves and the society, and actively contributing to the new rural development.
