In the afternoon of September 26, 2017, Mr. Azzeddine Farhane – The ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco to Vietnam – visited and discussed business at the head office of PVFCCo. The Ambassador was welcomed by Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong – Vice President of PVFCCo, Heads of functional divisions, and the representative of IR Team.
At the meeting, both parties discussed and exchanged information on their business activities and opportunities for cooperation with a particular focus on fertilizer trading partnership between PVFCCo and Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP) Group of Morocco.
In addition to existing trade relations, with common geographical features (Vietnam is the gateway to ASEAN and Morocco is the gateway to African markets), historical factors, as well as fine diplomatic relations, the Ambassador expressed his hope that the companies from both countries, including PVFCCo and OCP, could further expand their cooperation and, particularly, consider the possibility of cooperating in fertilizer production to bring about more benefits for enterprises and countries.
On behalf of PVFCCo, Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong expressed her gratitude and pleasure to the Ambassador”s goodwill to serve as the bridge to connect, support, and promote the cooperation between PVFCCo and OCP. In the upcoming time, both parties will explore and further discuss about potential opportunities for cooperation. Also, in the event of this meeting, Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong talked about the plan for divestment of state capital in PVFCCo and expressed her hope that the Ambassador could promote this opportunity to strategic investors of Morocco.
OCP has been known as the largest economic group in Morocco that is owned by the Royal Family of Morocco and has total assets of 3.6 billion USD. Currently, OCP is the third largest manufacturer and world-leading exporter of phosphate fertilizers with an annual production of about 30 million tons/year, accounting for 33% of world market.
