From the 10th to the 15th of September 2018, at the Sports Center of Phu My Fertilizer Plant (in Phu My Town, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province), more than 700 “athletes” from 26 sports teams of 9 subsidiary unions of Petrovietnam Fertilizer & Chemicals Corporation’s Trade Union (PVFCCo) participated in PVFCCo’s 11th Traditional Sports Festival in 2018 hosted by PVFCCo’s Trade Union. This was to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2nd), the 43rd anniversary of Petrovietnam’s establishment and 14th anniversary of PVFCCo’s Traditional Day.

The Closing Ceremony of the Sports Festival took place on September 15th 2018 with the participation of Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan – Member of the Executive Board of the Vietnam General Federation of Labor and Chairwoman of Petrovietnam Trade Union; Mr. Le Cu Tan– Chairman of PVFCCo’sBoard of Management; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien – Vice chairwoman of PVFCCo’sBoard of Management; and Mr. Tong Xuan Phong– Chairman of PVFCCo’s Trade Unionand President of the Organizing Committeefor this festival. Besides, the ceremony was attended by representative leaders of the subsidiaries, the Executive Board of the Trade Union, and other organizations and associations.

At the festival, the participants competed in 9 sports (swimming, table tennis, football, badminton, Chinese chess and international chess, track and field, tug of war and skipping rope). This year’s Sports Festival was the highest attended and most exciting one. Many athletes surpassed their limits, even daring to register for the competition just after two to three days of practicing when the previously registered ones quitted for urgent work. Many subsidiaries such as PVFCCo North, PVFCCo Centraland PVFCCo SWtraveled quite a long way to gather at the Sports Center of Phu My Fertilizer Plant, preparing for the competition. During this period, the Sports Festival is the playground imbued with efforts, sports spirit, solidarity and endeavor to surpass the limits.

 “PVFCCo has always been one of the leading units of Petrovietnam Group in the movement “Building the cultural life at grass-roots level” and, for many years, has won the representative unit title of this movement,” asserted Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan at the Closing Ceremony. PVFCCo has regularly recorded high achievements in Sport Festivals hosted by the industrial trade union. PVFCCo supporters’ group are always the fairest and most enthusiastic supporters. PVFCCo’s sports culture has contributed to the creating and marking of Petrovietnam’s culture.

Also at the ceremony, Mr. Tong Xuan Phong, Chairman of PVFCCo’s Trade Unionand President of the Organizing Committeefor this festival, emphasized that: PVFCCo’s traditional Sports Festival promotes the movement of physical exercise and sports while maintaining the culture, improving the spiritual life, encouraging PVFCCo’s employees to work harder, and contributing to the fulfillment of PVFCCo’s manufacturing business plans.

After a week of exciting competition among the athletes, with the justice of Referee and Organizing Committees, PVFCCo’s traditional Sports Festival XI-2018 successfully ended with many awards. Specifically:

• 01 First Prize for team: PVFCCo’s Office

• 01 Second Prize for team: PVFCCo Central

• 01 Third Prize for team: PVFCCo SE

• 02 Consolation Prize for team: The Mechanical workshop and Auxiliary workshop of Phu My Fertilizer Plant

• Other 21 Prizes

            Also at the ceremony, PVFCCo’s Trade Union commended 5 representative units in the “movement of building the cultural life at grass-roots level” in 2017, including trade unions of Phu My Fertilizer Plant, PVFCCo’s Office, PVFCCo North, PVFCCo SE and Dam Phu My Packaging JSC.
