For conducting the fertilizer giveaway program to needy farmers, PVFCCo and the South West Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Joint Stock Company on July 16, 2013 gave away fertilizer to the needy farmers in Soc Trang and Dong Thap provinces.
At Long Phu commune, Long Phu district, Soc Trang province, the company gave away 260 gift sets with 25kg of Phu My Urea and 25kg of DAP fertilizer each to 260 needy farmer households, most of which were Khmer families.
At subsidiary of PVFCCo SW located at An Phong commune, Thanh Binh district, Dong Thap province, 260 gift sets with 25kg of Phu My Urea and 25 kg of Phu My NPK 16-16-8+13S each were given to 260 farmer families.
In parallel with fertilizer giveaway, the company”s and the corporation”s technicians presented the corporation”s activities and gave instruction on how to scientifically and rationally use fertilizer to the farmers.
The program was held in association with the local Farmer”s Union and Authority. This was the corporation”s program to directly assist the farmers suffering from the rice price”s nose dive and weak consumption at the recent summer-fall crop; they got low income or even loss so it was difficult for them to reinvest in new crop. As scheduled, the program is held at 8 Mekong Delta provinces with roughly 2,600 gift sets of different kinds of fertilizer weighing totally around 130 tons.
