On the afternoon of July 15, 2023, in Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province, the 162nd Division (Naval Zone 4) and the affiliated unit of the PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) – Phu My Urea Plant, held a ceremony to commemorate the 10th anniversary of their partnership.
Attending the program from PVFCCo were Comrade Trinh Van Khiem – Member of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Veterans Association of PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation; Comrade Le Trong Dinh Chi – Member of the Party Committee, Director of Phu My Urea Plant; Comrade Pham Chi Trung – Secretary of the Youth Union of PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation, along with other employees from Phu My Urea Plant. From Naval Zone 4, there were Brigadier General Nguyen Duc Khoi – Deputy Commander of Naval Zone 4, Chief of Staff of the Command Office of Naval Zone; Lieutenant Colonel Mai Van Doanh – Party Secretary of the 162nd Division; Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Son – Division Commander of the 162nd Division.
In the program, both sides joyfully revisited the 10-year journey since the day of bonding and solidarity; shared the latest information about the situation of the sea and islands; reported the results of leadership in military tasks, national defense, and business operations during the first 6 months of 2023. They also had a meaningful cultural exchange program, singing traditional songs praising the industries and professions of both units. They participated in experiential activities to strengthen their bond, such as boat racing on the sea, fishing activities, making bread, and engaging in special Navy sports.
On this meaningful occasion, the Phu My Ammonia Plant and the 162nd Regiment jointly inaugurated the fish pond and vegetable garden in the unit’s centralized training area. This project was sponsored and constructed by PVFCCo, starting in March, covering an area of 2,000 square meters. The fish pond, with an area of 600 square meters, has a waterproof tarp-lined bottom, and its concrete embankment is covered with stainless steel railings. The vegetable garden is equipped with a steel frame, a membrane roof, and an irrigation system. PVFCCo donated 3 tons of Phu My fertilizer for this project, contributing to ensuring a stable food supply for the unit’s regular and unexpected missions, thereby enhancing the soldiers’ meal quality.
During the program, the delegation also inaugurated a commemorative stone tower placed in the 162nd Regiment area, symbolizing the strong bond and close relationship between the two units. The officers and soldiers of the units offered their sincere respects, paying tribute, and laying a wreath at the Gac Ma Fallen Soldiers Memorial.
