Ho Chi Minh City, 18th June 2013 – Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – Stock code: DPM) says that from June 2013, the corporation will implement a program of providing free health care and medicines for poor farmers living in the Delta Mekong.
Accordingly, the first distribution will take place on June 18, 2013 at Truong Xuan commune, Thoi Lai district, Can Tho province then the next ones will be held in turns at communes of 10 districts of 4 provinces in the Delta Mekong: Can Tho, An Giang, Tien Giang and Dong Thap. Expectedly, with 10 distributions, each one serves 250 people, about 2,500 poor farmers can participate to this program. Total funding is about 1.3 million dongs.
This program was implemented by PVFCCo in coordination with its member company – PVFCCo Southwest, the local authorities and the Red Cross, professionally undertaken by Hoan My Cuu Long Hospital.
This is a new activity from PVFCCo’s social security program in 2013 for the purpose of directly supporting poor farmers who lack of access to health care services. People participate to this activity will be advised of how to prevent some common diseases such as dengue fever, diarrhea… have general health check and receive free medicines (depending on the test results). The list of participants is suggested by the local authorities and the Red Cross.
