In the morning of September 23, 2014, PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) in collaboration with the local authority leaders organized the inauguration ceremony for the projectof Disaster-proof communal house – Chat Thuong Primary School in Phuoc Hau Commune, Ninh Phuoc District, Ninh Thuan Province.
Attendees of the ceremony includedMr. Bui Nhat Quang – Vice Chairman of Ninh Thuan ProvincePeople’sCommittee;Mr. Nguyen Dang Lam – ManagingDirector of Central Region Natural Disaster Prevention and Support Fund, and on the part of PVFCCo’s leadership– Mr Le Van QuocViet – PVFCCo’s Vice President.
The Chat Thuong Primary School construction works was started from 04/2014with total investmentofnearly VND 6billion, in which, PVFCCo sponsored VND 3 billion – sourced from the 2013-2014 Social Security Fund of PVFCCo. The schoolhas the total usable area of 900 square meters including a two-storey work, 10 classrooms, and a rescuestaircase for over 400 people in cases of emergency natural disasters.
Ninh Thuan is a provincecharacterized bysevere climate, with 3-sidesbordering mountains, lots of rivers and springs, and a rather complicated hydrologic system, and because all rivers and springs here are of high slopes, in rainy seasons, Chat Thuong Village is always inundated with flash floodsand landslide due to water flows from upstream… resulting in damage to property, adversely affecting the living conditions of people. The operation ofthe Disaster-proof communal house– Chat Thuong Primary School will make positive contributionsto the education development and the protection against loss and damage caused by rains and floods.
