Today (August 11, 2015), PVFCCo donated gifts valued at VND 50,000,000 to Agent Orange/Dioxin victims at Tan Thanh District where Phu My Fertlizer Plant is located.
This is a significant activity of PVFCCo to mark the 54th anniversary of Vietnam’s Agent Orange/Dioxin Day (August 10, 1961 – August 10, 2015), reflecting an effort to join hands with the community in physical and spiritual relief for Agent Orange/Dioxin victims.
Local officials attending the gift-awarding ceremony included Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc – Vice Chairman of Ba Ria Vung Tau Province Association of Agent Orange/ Dioxin; Ms. Le Thi Le – Vice Chairwoman of Vietnam National Front Committee of Tan Thanh District, Mr. Trieu Trong Dan – Chairman of Tan Thanh District Association of Agent Orange/ Dioxin & Support for the Disabled. For PVFCCo, Mr. Duong Duy Thuong – Vice Chairman of Phu My Plant Trade Union was present.
At the ceremony, Mr. Duong Duy Thuong delivered a speech to share the pain and loss of older generations who courageously fought for peace and country reunification but suffered serious complications from Agent Orange.
On behalf of Tan Thanh District Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin, Mr. Trieu Trong Dan expressed his thanks to PVFCCo for partnering local authorities in carrying out many significant activities over the years.
