From November 20 to December 20, 2013, PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation(PVFCCo) has started to implement the program of awarding 6604 scholarships, namely “Đạm Phú Mỹ” (Phu My Urea) Scholarship with a value of nearly 3.4 billion dongs for academic year 2013 – 2014 to students who had good academic achievements in colleges and universities nationwide. PVFCCo will award sequentially “Đạm Phú Mỹ”scholarships for academic year 2013 – 2014 to students in colleges and universities nationwide: South-eastern region (in Vung Tau City); South-western region (in Can Tho City); Northern region (in Hanoi City), Central – Western Highlands regions (Quy Nhon City); HCM City and Cam Ranh – Khanh Hoa province.
Accordingly, on November 20, 2013, representative of PVFCCo’s leadership, Mr. Tu Cuong – Vice President awarded 62 scholarships (including 3 Honour scholarships) for students in Petrovietnam University – PVU (22 consolation scholarships), Ba Ria Vung Tau University (22 consolation scholarships, 3 honour scholarships) and Petrovietnam Manpower Training College (20 consolation scholarships). The total value of all scholarships is 370 billion dongs.
“Đạm Phú Mỹ” scholarships for academic year 2013 – 2014 include 23 Honour scholarships with a value of 20 million dongs/scholarship and 581 consolation scholarships with a value of 5 million dongs/scholarship. Most of students receiving scholarships are in households of preferential policies, poor and near poor households, households in difficult situation but have efforts to have good academic achievements.Especially, among 604 awarded scholarships this time, there are 178 scholarships awarded to students who are the children of poor farmers’ families, 101 scholarships awarded to students who are the children of officers and men in mission at the Vietnam People’s Navy.
“Đạm Phú Mỹ” scholarship program, formerly DPM scholarship, which has been initiated from 2008-2009 to present, has awarded 2018 scholarships with the total value of 11.8 billion dongs. “Đạm Phú Mỹ” scholarship program is considered as one of the most valuable and meaningful scholarship programs.
