HCMC, on December 28th, 2016 – PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – producer and trader of Phu My fertilizers) announced its launch of emergency relief aid to flood victims in Central region, who were heavily hit by historic floods and torrents recently.
Accordingly, PVFCCo held fundraising activities among PVFCCo personnel and co-organized emergency relief program with Provincial Red Cross Societies to help flood victims in Central region with the total support worth VND 612 million. In mid-December 2016, PVFCCo directly donated VND 162 million to 72 families suffering from flood casualties in Binh Dinh, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa provinces. Then, on December 26th, 2016, PVFCCo delivered 1,000 gifts (amounting to VND 450 million, each consisting of 5 kg of rice, 1 blanket and VND 200,000 cash) to 1,000 households at 5 communes of Tay Son and Vinh Thanh Districts, Binh Dinh Province – the two districts suffering heavy loss with many homes collapsed or severely damaged, inter-commune, district roads disrupted and isolated, thousands of hectares of crop and rice fields, poultry and cattle drowned or washed away by flooding.
Mr. Tong Xuan Phong – Chairman of PVFCCo Trade Union said that the support reflected the heart and sincere sentiments of PVFCCo’s personnel in an effort to help flood-hit victims overcome damage and quickly resume their routine life.
