It is informed by Vietnam Food Association (VFA) that from the beginning of the year to December 6, 2012 our country has exported 7,256 million tons of rice valued at USD 3,234 billion.
Thus, the country’s rice export volume has reached 2% compared to 7,105 million tons of exported rice in 2011.
Since early October, Vietnam has been ranked the world’s number one rice exporter. It is expected that the country’s rice export of the year will reach 7.5 million tons and possibly reach to 7.7 million tons.
Currently, price of the dry rice in Mekong Delta has ranged from 5,400 – 5,500 VND/kg and the long rice is from 5,600 – 5,700 VND/kg.
The 1st-class rice material to make the 5% broken rice costs about 7,300 – 7,400 VND/kg depending on the area, and rice material to make 25% broken rice is 7,200 – 7,300 VND/kg depending on quality and local.
The price of 5% broken rice of net weight is about 8,400 – 8,500 VND/kg, 15% is 8,050 – 8,150 VND/kg and 25% is 7,750 – 7,850 VND/kg depending on quality and local.
