thesaigontimes.vn – According to PVFCCo, as at 10/5, the cost of urea imported to Vietnam has increased to nearly VND 13,000/kg.

In the domestic market, asthe urea supply has been replenished with Ca Mau Urea and urea imported from China through border trade, the urea price currently remains stableat around VND 11,000/kg, showing some signs of slight decrease in Mekong Delta.

PVFCCo also expected to consume 460,000 tons of Phu My Urea by end of May 2012, increasing by 36% as compared with the same period last year. Besides, 93,000 tons of Ca Mau granular urea distributed by PVFCCo will be supplemented to the market.

According to the plan,in June and July-2012, PVFCCo will continue supplying to  the market with 152,000 tons of  Phu My Urea and 110,000 tons of Ca Mau Urea.

From early quarter 2/2012, Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant officially launched its commercial products; Ninh Binh Fertilizer Plant is expected to officially turn out products in quarter 2/2012. However, in the initial stage, both plants need time to operate production lines at the designed capacity; as such, the domestic source is temporarily undersupply, requiring more imports.
