Following the Conference o fNorthern region held in last May, today (10/9/2013), in Can Tho City, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized the Conference on “Market situation and State managementorientationforfertilizers” ofthe Southernregion to keep collecting opinions agreed by management agencies and businesses on solutions to improve effectiveness of fertilizer market management.
The Conference was chaired by Ms. Ho Thi Kim Thoa, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, attended by representative leaders of Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, departments and Ministry’s specialized bodies, provincial/municipal Departments of Industry & Trade in the South provinces, representatives of fertilizer producers and traders, the press and media agencies. Representativesof PVFCCo at the Conference included Mr. Bui Minh Tien – PVFCCo Chairman and Mr. Duong Tri Hoi – Vice President.
At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and evaluating the actual situation of fertilizer production, supply capacity and consumption in our country at the moment in order to propose the orientation of state management for fertilizers in the future.
The Conference agreed on solutions such as: Strengthening control of quality of fertilizer circulating on the market, especially fertilizers imported through border trade, control of fertilizer production activities; regulating the balance of fertilizer supply and demand through fertilizer reserves and circulation mechanism; urgently reaching agreement and completing the legal framework on management of fertilizer production and trading activities as well as providing support policies to improve the capacity of distribution system, ensure smooth circulation and quality control, origin tracking, helping farmers purchase fertilizers of guaranteed quality in a timely manner…
