Responding to the “Stay-in school” scholarship program

DDDN – At the beginning of the school year 2012-2013, a “Stay-in school” program has been officially launched by by Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan – Vice President and Chairwoman of the Council of Vietnam Children’s Fund in order to call for and mobilize the supports and help from organizations, companies and individuals to studious poor children at risk of dropping out of school all over the country. This program has offered many different supports such as awarding scholarships, offering school supplies toneedy students in the list sent from each province.
In response to the program, PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas), PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo), Vietnam Petroleum Institute and Imex Pan – Pacific Co.Ltd (IPP) contributed and supported the Vietnam Children’s Fund with 1,470 scholarships with total amount of more than VND 4.41 billion given to children in special difficult circumstances (VND 3 million/case). In which, PV Gas has contributed VND 800 million.
With the given sponsorship, Vietnam Children’s Fund will have more opportunities to expand the “Stay-in school” scholarship program and many poor students will have conditions to go to school.
