From April 18th to April 20th, 2017, Acting Chairman of the Member Board – President &CEO of PVN Mr Nguyen Vu Truong Son visited and worked with oil and gas business partners in Moscow, Russian Federation.
On April 19th, 2017, Acting Chairman of the Member Board – President &CEO of PVN Mr Nguyen Vu Truong Son had a meeting with Mr Alexey Miller – Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom Gas Corporation.
During the meeting, Leaders of the two Corporations confirmed determinations to consolidate and develop the traditional and beneficial relationship between the two in oil and gas industry, and to boost cooperation in current projects as well as to propose and research new solutions to overcome difficulties and enhance efficiency of Gazpromviet project.
In this business trip, Mr Nguyen Vu Truong Son also had a discussion with Mr Phillipov – CEO of Power Machines Contractor. The Contractor reported to Mr Nguyen Vu Truong Son on the current progress of Long Phu 1 Thermoelectric Plant. Accordingly, Long Phu 1 Thermoelectric Plant project was facing various obstacles in funding arrangement and management. The delay in implementing this project had severely affected the ability to complete tasks assigned to PVN by the Government of Vietnam.
President of the corporation elaborately analyzed the possible consequences if the Contractor failed to come up with effective and timely solutions; and thereby requested Power Machines to have more drastic actions to accelerate the progress and complete Long Phu 1 Thermoelectric Plant project within schedule in the EPC Contract. This would be a prerequisite condition for PVN’s to further consider and propose to continue the cooperation with Power Machines Contractor in the future to the Government of Vietnam.
