Specifically, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, due to fertilizer demand for the winter-spring crop and as the flood came early this year in the Mekong Delta region, the use of fertilizer was needed earlier than every year bringing on the gradual flourish of the fertilizer market. It was forecasted that fertilizer demand would be stable from now until the end of the year and also in the winter-spring crop of 2012-2013.
Along with the rise of the market, fertilizer production also knew a significant increase: urea production in November 2012 reached 132.1 thousand tons, increasing 53.5%; DAP production reached 27.5 thousand tons, increasing 7.1% over the same period. For 11 months, urea estimated to reach nearly 1.46 million tons, increasing 60.2%; DAP fertilizer estimated to reach 260.2 thousand tons, increasing 20.9%; phosphate fertilizer estimated to reach 1.4 million tons, decreasing 4.1% over the same period.
