In the morning of 22/02/2012, PVFCCo in co-operation with Kien Giang Plant Protection Sub-Department organized a workshop to summarize the experimentation model of granular urea on rice at Hon Dat District, Kien Giang.
The workshop was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Them – Head of the Agriculture Division, Kien Giang Province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, leaders of Kien Giang Plant Protection Sub-Department, Agriculture Encouragement Center and technical officials of Hon Dat District along with Kien Giang Television and other mass media for news coverage. Attendees of the workshop also included wholesalers and more than 120 farmers living nearby.
The model of using granular urea on the OM 50404 rice variety yielded 7.5 tons/ha. Through collected data on growth norms,usage ofgranular urea on the experimental field brought better results than mass rice fields with imported Chinese urea.
Talking with the farmers at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Van Them – Head of the Agriculture Division, Kien Giang Province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Department said that this was the second rice crop in which PVFCCo co-operated with Kien Giang Plant Protection Sub-Department to deploy experimental points at key rice-growing districts of Kien Giangand preliminary results showed that usage of granular urea would still guarantee the rice productivity as well as economic efficiency for farmers. He also highly appreciated the co-operation between PVFCCo and local authorities to transfer advanced skills ofurea usage and helpthe farmers as well as local technical officials to get access to Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant’s products.
At the workshop, the delegates were presented with introduction on samples of Ca Mau Urea packaging, samples of Ca Mau Urea products to help wholesalers and farmers to identify and get familiar with the trademark and packaging to be launched on the market in the near future.
