In an effort to renovate PVFCCo’s communications and marketing activities, interactive marketing style, highlighting the communications and marketing activities for 2014-2015 Winter-Spring Crop, PVFCCo’s Communications & Marketing Division and Youth Union, acting as the focal points, in collaboration with Southwest PVFCCo, carried out “Phu My Bumper Crop Festival” Workshop on the pilot basis to provide guidance on agricultural and direct sales techniques, accompanied with playground games and musical performance for the farmers. The pilot “Phu My Bumper Crop Festival”, the first of its kind, was held on Sunday, 02 November 2014, in Dao Huu Canh Commune, Chau Phu District, An Giang Province. The event, joined by the Youth Unions of An Giang Province and Chau Phu District, An Giang’s Department of Agriculture & Rural Development, PVFCCo’s dealers at all tiers in An Giang and the authorities of Dao Huu Canh Commune, included the following sessions:
– Session 1, 08:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.: Workshop regarding the guidance on agricultural and direct sales techniques for 2014-2015 Winter-Spring Crop. In addition to the introduction about PVFCCo and its Phu My Fertilizer products, Dr. Chu Van Hach – Head of Fertilizers & Cultivating Techniques Department of Mekong Delta Rice Research Institute, and Ms. Nguyen Phuoc Thanh – Head of Cultivation Department of An Giang Plant Protection Sub-Department, gave the local farmers their advices on agricultural cultivation issues for 2014-2015 Winter-Spring Crop.
– Session 2, 14h30 – 17h00: Playground games. The modern and attractive games, farmer-orientated yet relevant to Phu My brand name, such as Agricultural Knowledge game, Bowling, Mountain Climbing Boxing, Brand Name Puzzle, Rich Farmers game, Challenging Football Shooting, joined by Phu My Fertilizer, Phu My DAP, Phu My Potassium, Phu My NPK and a large number of local farmers, were excitingly organized in the entire afternoon. Phu My Potassium Team won the first prize, worth VND 5 million, followed by Phu My NPK, Phu My Fertilizer, Phu My DAP with the prizes worth VND 4 million, 3 million and 2 million, respectively.
– Session 3, 19h00 – 21h30: Musical performance, awarding scholarships and prizes to the games winners in the afternoon. The musical performance, meticulously prepared by the artists from Ho Chi Minh City and Chau Phu District Cultural Center, especially with the participation of Meritorious Artist Thanh Danh – Head of An Giang’s Music & Dance Delegation, brought forth many good performance scenes and cheerful laugh to the audience. Moreover, in the event, PVFCCo awarded 20 scholarships and donated 2,000 notebooks to the communal poor students for their good results and difficulty overcoming effort.
The event drew special attention from the local authorities, PVFCCo’s leaders, affiliates, dealers and local farmers. Attendees of the event included PVFCCo’s leaders, namely Mr. Cao Hoai Duong – President & CEO; Mr. Nguyen Hong Vinh – BOD’s member ; Mr. Duong Tri Hoi – Vice President; the local leaders such as Mr. Doan Ngoc Pha, Deputy Director of An Giang’s Department of Agriculture & Rural Development, leaders of An Giang’s Party Committee, the Farmers’ Association and Party Committee of Chau Phu District, leaders of Dao Huu Canh Commune; representatives of PVFCCo’s primary and secondary dealers in An Giang. Particularly, the event attracted the participation of thousands of farmers in Chau Phu District. According to a quick interview with the local government, especially the attending farmers, this event was unprecedented and fascinating, attracting a record number of audience as compared to that of previous events in Chau Phu District. Within one whole day, the local farmers were provided with practical and updated knowledge required for the Winter-Spring Crop in the morning while excitedly engaged in modern games in the afternoon, and refreshed, relieved from stress by musical performance in the evening.
Hopefully, to keep on promoting its successes and effects, Phu My Bumper Crop Festival will be rolled out to other regions nation-wide.
