On April 28, 2017, at the Meeting Hall of Phu My Urea Plant, the Youth Union of PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemical Corporation (PVFCCo) successfully held the 2nd General Meeting of deputies of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for 2017–2022 term. Among the attendants and leaders at the General Meeting were Mr. Phan Sy Linh –Standing Vice Secretary of the Youth Union of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), and comrade Le Cu Tan – Secretary of the Party Union cum Chairman of PVFCCo; comrade Doan Van Nhuom – Vice Secretary of the Party Union cum President & CEO of PVFCCo, together with other comrades in the Party Union, Board of Directors, Board of Management, and heads of Divisions/subsidiaries of PVFCCo. Especially, the General Meeting was attended by 117 outstanding deputies that had been elected by union organizations at sub-levels to represent the wills and desires of 668 union members of the Corporation.

As a part of the agenda, deputies attending the General Meeting listened to the Executive Board”s summary of Youth Union achievements and youth movements in the Corporation in the last term, in which it reported strengths, weaknesses, causes, and experience lessons. Based on that, the guidelines, tasks, and solutions to implement Youth Union activities and youth movement in 2017-2022 term were built.

In the last 5-year term, the youth of PVFCCo has made significant and positive contributions to the production and business activities of the organization. In particular, many individuals and groups of Youth Union members have achieved the titles of “excellent labor”, “emulation sodiers”, excellent performancen at work, and PVFCCo Youth Union becomes one ofthe most excellent teams for 5 consecutive years of the Youth Union of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group. In 2016, especially, the Youth Union was honored to receive the Merit Certificate awarded by the Prime Minister and many other merit certificates awarded by the Central Youth Union, Central Youth Union of Enterprise group, and Youth Union of PVN.

In 2017-2022 term, the Corporation Union has set its objectives, tasks, and action orientations as: to promote the education of patriotism and civil awareness, revolutionary ideals and ethics, and political and cultural skillsfor members of the Youth Union; to enhance the quality of activities conducted by Youth Union organizations; to care for and protect legitimate interests of the youth, and so on.

Speaking at the General Meeting, comrade Le Cu Tan and comrade Phan Sy Linh commended and highly appraised the achievements made by the Executive Board of the Youth Union in 2012-2017 term and its youth members, contributing positively to the overall development of the Corporation. They expressed their expectation that, in the upcoming term, the Executive Board of the Youth Union would continue igniting the strength of the youth of PVFCCo, develop the Youth Union in a sustainable manner, and conducting activities of the Youth Union in a practical, effective, and appropriate manner to match the prestige of the Corporation. In addition, they committed that the Youth Union, Board of Management, and Party Union of the Corporation would facilitate the best conditions for members of the Union to take advantages of their creativity and dynamism to make more positive and effective contributions to production and business activities of the Corporation in particular and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group in general.

Via a vote conducted in a democratic and valid manner and with a high ratio of agreemen, the General Meeting elected members of the Executive Board of the Youth Union of PVFCCo for session II, 2017-2022 term, consisting of 15 comrades as follows:

2.      Comrade Nguyen Huynh Viet Anh– Vice Secretary of the Corporation Union cum Head of the Inspection Committee

3.      Comrade Nguyen Thi Que Chau– Vice Secretary of the Corporation Union

4.      Comrade Pham Chi Trung– Standing Member of the Corporation Union

5.      Comrade Le Hoang Huy– Standing Member of the Corporation Union

6.      Comrade Co Kim Dung – Member of the Executive Board of the Corporation Union

7.      Comrade Vo Van Duy – Member of the Executive Board of the Corporation Union

8.      Comrade Tran Van Giang – Member of the Executive Board of the Corporation Union

9.      Comrade Do Thi Thanh Huong– Member of the Executive Board of the Corporation Union

10.  Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Mai – Member of the Executive Board of the Corporation Union

11.  Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung – Member of the Executive Board of the Corporation Union

15.  Comrade Luong Cong Tien – Member of the Executive Board of the Corporation Union

At the General Meeting, to acknowledge contributions made by Union officers and Members of the Corporation Union, as well as to encourage and motivate the officers to try their best efforts to contribute to movements of the Union, the Executive Board of the Union decided to award 9 teams and 12 individuals for excellent performance in activities of the Union and youth movement in 2012-2017 period. Deputies attending the General Meeting also elected the Delegation of Deputies to attend the 2nd General Meeting of PVN Youth Union in 2017-2022 term, consisting of 5 official deputies and 1 alternate deputy.

The success of the General Meeting of the Corporation Union has encouraged and motivated all Union members and the youth of the Corporation to start a new session with new tasks together with a lot of difficulties and challenges. This will be the term in which the youth of the Corporation commits themselves to “innovate and take actions with determination to overcome difficulties and contribute to sustainable development of PVFCCo”, follow the steps set by previous generation, continuously learn and train to overcome obstacles and excellently accomplish proposed tasks in the agenda.
