Today (December 26, 2013), the Trade Union of PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) held the program “Tet for the poor” to grant gifts to lonely old people and orphans in Ho Chi Minh City. The program was held at PVFCCo’s office and attended by Mr. Tong Xuan Phong – Chairman of PVFCCo’s Trade Union and the trade unionists. In the program, PVFCCo gave 60 Tet gift sets to Huyen Trang Humanitarian Center – the center where they nurture orphans and lonely elderly people in La pagoda, Nha Be District, and 135 gift sets to Lam Quang pagoda – the center of nurturing the lonely elderly people, located in District 8. Previously, on December 21, PVFCCo’s Trade Union gave 75 gift sets of equivalent value to Thien Phuoc Orphanage Home – Hamlet 6 – An Nhon Tay Commune – Cu Chi District – Ho Chi Minh City. In the 2 times of presenting gifts in Ho Chi Minh City, PVFCCo has given 270 gift sets with total value of 102,600,000 dongs. Each gift set is worth 380,000 dongs, including necessaries used in Lunar New Year Festival and cash.
These two events of giving gifts have started up the 2014 Program “Tet for the poor” with more than 8,000 gift sets worth 4 billion VND to be presented. The program has been co-organized by PVFCCo and its member companies around the country and taken place from 20th December 2013 to 25th January 2014 with the collaboration of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Vietnam Fatherland Frontier and the local authorities…The gift recipients are underprivileged farming families, households under preferential treatment policies, wounded and sick soldiers, the people who have contributed to the Revolution… The program “Tet for the poor” is an annually social activity that has been deployed by PVFCCo since 2008, aiming at supporting poor and disadvantaged families to have conditions to welcome Tet happily and comfortably. So far, PVFCCo has funded a total of more than 12 billion VND for the program. This is a practical and meaningful activity of PVFCCo’s leaders and employees to share difficulties with disadvantaged families in the whole country, especially those in remote areas.
