PVFCCo signs MOU on cooperation with Vinafood II

In the morning of 8th January 2015, PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation with Vietnam Southern Food Corporation (Vinafood II) on providing agricultural supplies to raw material areas of Vinafood II’s “Big Rice Fields”. Attendees of the signing ceremony included Mr. Pham Hoang Ha – Chairman of Members’ Council of Vinafood II, Mr. Huynh The Nang, member of Members’ Council, General Director of Vinafood II, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, member of BOD, President & CEO of PVFCCo and representatives of Boards of Directors, Management Boards and member companies of the two parties.

According to the MOU of the 2 parties, for the period 2015 – 2020, PVFCCo undertakes to supply Vinafood II with Phu My fertilizers including Phu My Urea, Phu My NPK, Phu My Kali, Phu My DAP in stable quantity on a long term basis coupled with best sales policy, technical support, training services for Vinafood II’s technical workforce and sales executives. The two parties will jointly organize regular seminars on technical guidlines, build demonstration models to help farmers understand the fertilization methods, taking care of rice in raw material areas of Vinafood II. The two parties have committed to work together and exchange information on techniques, fertilizer prices, crop situations, experience in operation of Big rice fields…

This cooperation agreement signed between PVFCCo and Vinafood II will facilitate the two parties in fully developing their potential, taking advantage of each other’s strengths and jointly contributing to the national agriculture growth.

Reportedly, Vinafood II is one of Vietnam’s largest businesses in production, business and export of agricultural products, especially rice. Vinafood II has its own material areas of up to 50,000 ha, with fertilizer demand in period 2014-2020 reaching over 1 million tonnes, of which urea accounts for approx. 40%.
