On 07 November 2014, the Workshop on Phu My Fertilizer Presentation Model on Tea, jointly organized by the Southeast PetroVietnam Fertilizer & Chemicals Joint Stock Company (PVFCCo SE) and Lam Dong’s Agricultural Promotion Center in Loc Thang Town, Bao Lam District, Lam Dong Province, was a success.
Attendees of the workshop included representatives of the local agricultural agencies, the press, Lam Dong Television, the dealers and approximately 100 local farmers. In the workshop, summarization and comparison of Phu My Fertilizer presentation model on Tea versus the local farmers’ comparative model under routine practice were reported by the representatives of Lam Dong Agricultural Promotion Center, with the former resulting in outstanding yields and profits. As a result, fresh tea productivity from the presentation model and comparative model was 25 – 26 tonnes/ha/year (10 harvest times) and 21.7 tonnes/ha/year (i.e. 4 – 4.5 tonnes/ha) respectively, resulting in higher profit of VND 35 – 38 million/ha/year.
As commented by the local farmers, compared to the comparative model, Phu My fertilizers are greatly reliable, giving high yield and outstanding quality, stimulating the development of tea roots and equally big tea buds, limiting pests and mitigating the harvesting effort to 1-2 days/harvest time. The farmers said they were free from the concerns on counterfeits or poor quality products when using Phu My fertilizers, particularly on the tea and farm produce in the local area. In the warm and friendly atmosphere of the workshop, the farmers’ concerns about fertilizer usage, seasonal crops, etc. were well attended to and responded by PVFCCo SE’s representatives and the local agricultural agencies.
Additionally, in the workshop, the local farmers proposed that the Company would run comparative presentation model on high-yield tea and Taiwanese special tea so as to popularize the application of the fertilizers further for better production efficiency.
The presentation model on the Tea, helping affirm the quality of Phu My fertilizers, simultaneously providing efficient and economical cultivation solutions to the farmers, preventing them from purchasing counterfeits or poor quality products, was highly evaluated by the local authorities in terms of agricultural development in the locality.
