On 08 May 2015, in Da Lat, PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) successfully held the 2015 “Symposium on Research & Development and Science and Technology”. Participants included Mr. Le Cu Tan – PVFCCo’s Chairman; Mr. Cao Hoai Duong – President & CEO; members of the Board of Directors, the Board of Management, leaders of PVFCCo’s Divisions/ Departments and member companies.
To evaluate the existing situation of science and technology, R&D activities, relevant regulations, results of performing implementation resolutions/ directives and orientations, the Symposium listened to several speeches on: overview of R&D activities, results of performing implementation resolutions/ directives and orientations; summary of the Charter of Science and Technology Development Fund; review of rules and documents on management of science and technology R&D, processes applied in implementing and coordinating activities with Departments/ Divisions efficiently.
During the program, participants excitingly contributed their ideas and discussed with each other, mainly on: mastering the development trend in the world, focusing on research of application, quality (clean agriculture); collaborating with domestic and foreign experts to strengthen personnel for PVFCCo’s R&D activities; focused on R&D in the chemical sector, NPK formulas in line with NPK project’s production plan; reviewing the medium and long-term research and development plans, strengthening collaboration between R&D Department and other Departments/ member companies of PVFCCo, etc.. The Symposiumreceived more than 20 opinions for PVFCCo’s R&D activities, in which the good ideas were promptly rewarded and encouraged.
Speaking at the Symposium, PVFCCo’s leaders acknowledged initial successes of the research and development activities recently and indicated that in the increasingly competitive situation nowadays, PVFCCo’s leadership and other member companies needed to invest proper resources in R&D activities accordingly; requesting relevant divisions to record all ideas and suggestions during the Symposium to report to the Board of Management for implementation possibility; reviewing the entire system of policies, rules, regulations and procedures relating to R&D activities; building the appropriate reward and bonus policies; reviewing and completing the R&D plan for the period from 2014 to 2017; preparing the R&D strategy and the R&D orientation to 2025 and orientation to 2035…..
