PVFCCo organizes emergency relief programs valued at 2.5 billion VND for victims of the No.8 and No.10 Storms

PVFCCo and its member companies have been urgently organizing the relief programs for victims who have been suffering from severe damages caused by the No. 8 and No.10 Storms. The relief programs, worth 2.5 billion VND (of which 400 million VND raised by all the employees of PVFCCo), have been co-organized by PVFCCo, North Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Joint Stock Company (PVFCCo North) and Central Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Joint Stock Company (PVFCCo Central), in coordination with local administrative bodies, authorities and unions. The programs have been deployed in 08 provinces which are severely damaged by the continuously huge storms during last time, namely Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam and Daklak.

Accordingly, PVFCCo’s supports were classified according to victim groups: Cash support for families suffered from losing a family member or families whose house was collapsed after the storms; fertilizer support for farmer families and families under preferential treatment policy those own rice fields; granting notebooks, school tools and materials to schools and students living in the storm affected areas.

Right after the storm, PVFCCo and its two company members visited and granted cash assistance directly to 58 families suffered from severe damages with 2,000,000 VND for each family losing a member or having house collapsed; 1,000,000 VND for each family having members injured. The total support amount was 107 million VND.

After that, in order to help famers reproduce the winter-spring crop, PVFCCo granted fertilizer to poor farmer families and families under preferential treatment policy those own rice fields. Each family was given 25 kg of NPK Phu My 12-10-9+TE or NPK Phu My 16-16-8-13S, with nearly 8,000 packs in total amount of about 200 tons, valued at 2 billion VND. In addition, PVFCCo and local agricultural officers will provide famers with the guidelines on most effective and suitable procedures of using fertilizer.

At the same time, PVFCCo granted notebooks and school materials and tools valued at 400 million VND to schools and students living in storm affected areas.
