On 28 March 2019, responding to the month of action on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in 2019, PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) organized a workshop on “Improvement of risk management capacity on OSH at the workplace” at the Head Office. This is also an opportunity for members of trade union at all levels, especially the Safety – Hygiene staff managed by the union, to understand, guide and urge union members to know how to identify hazards and risks at the workplace.
The workshop was of attendance of Mr. Nguyen Tien Vinh – Party Committee Secretary – BOD Chairman of the Corporation, Mr. Tong Xuan Xuan Phong – Corporation Union Chairman and comrades in Corporation Board of Trade Union, Union leaders of member companies, Union representatives of partner units and nearly 80 delegates who are the safety-hygiene staff working in the entire safety-hygiene network of the Corporation.
At the workshop, the speaker Master Tran Thanh Quang – the expert appraiser and technical director of Viet Phat Training and Trading Consultancy Co., Ltd. presented briefly knowledge system of OSH, hazard identification, risk assessment and risk minimization measures at the workplace. With a lively visual guide combining theory and practice, Master Quang helped participants to clearly and deeply visualize workplace hazards whether at the construction site, factory or office. Although these hazards are not new, only accurate assessments lead to effective countermeasures, restriction and minimization measures.
In the discussion part, representatives of the operation, maintenance, business departments and corporation offices presented presentations on how to identify and assess the direct hazards faced by the departments during the working process as well as offer solutions to ensure safety and limit risks.
In addition, in order to timely encourage and stimulate employees to practice sports to improve health, corporation”s the Standing Committee of Union decided to award two union members with high achievements at the National Marathon organized by Tien Phong Newspaper, Ms. Hua Thanh Giang (working at Phu My Fertilizer Plant) and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tra (Head Office).
