On July 16th, 2014, at Phu My Urea Plant, PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Joint Stock Company held the Conference on the Preliminary Summary of Party and operating activities for 6 beginning months and deployment of tasks for 6 ending months of 2014.

Among the participants in the Conference, there were the leader of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, comrade Le Manh Hung – Vice President of the Group (PVN); and leaders of the Corporation, including comrade Le Cu Tan – Secretary of the Party Union – Chairman of the Board; comrade Cao Hoai Duong – Member of the Executive Committee of PVN Party Union and Vice Secretary of the Party Union, President & CEO of the Corporation; comrade Tran Thi Phuong Thao, Vice Secretary of the Party Union and Head of Control Board, as well as other members of the Executive Committee of the Party Union, Board of Directors, Board of Management, and other leaders and public people; managers of Departments/Offices of the Corporation; and secretaries and leaders of subsidiaries.

At the start of the Conference agenda, there was a report on the development of the Party for 6 beginning months and the plan and tasks for the 6 ending months of 2014 presented by comrade Le Cu Tan. In 6 beginning months, the Party Union frequently directed and proposed important solutions and practical action programs to resolve difficulties and accomplish business plan for 6 beginning months. The Party Union frequently carried out political and ideological activities, Party development and staff organization, inspection and observance of Party disciplines and management of the Party as a whole. It strictly complied with the guidelines of the Political Bureau on continuing learning and following the ethical example of Ho Chi Minh together with the implementation of resolution of 4th Central Party.

After that, the deputies listened to comrade Cao Hoai Duong”s report on results of operating activities for 6 beginning months of 2014 and tasks and solutions to effectively perform in the last 6 months of 2014. In the first 6 months, in spite of many difficulties and challenges such as increasing costs of input gas and transport and decreasing cost of fertilizers, thanks to close instructions of the Group and support of the shareholders, customers, and partners, and especially the efforts of the whole staff, results of PVFCCo for the first 6 months were generally encouraging. In 6 beginning months, the Corporation generally accomplished and outperformed established business criteria, such as: manufacturing 427,680 ton of Phu My urea or 53% of annual plan; selling 446,986 ton of Phu My urea or 56% of annual plan; total revenue was 4,877 billion dong or 56% of annual plan; profit before tax was 710 billion or 51% of annual plan… Also, he mentioned strict solutions to accomplish the plan for 6 ending months of 2014.

In the Conference, participants also listened to a preliminary summary of 15-year implementation of Directive No. 30-CT/TW of the Political Bureau on the formulation and exercise of democratic regulations at the grassroots level, in which there were many important discussions by participating representatives, including: experience lesson from the fire & explosion occurrence at NH3 plant engineering gas pipeline on April 06th, 2014 (Phu My Urea Plant); The role of Party Cell in directing the implementation of administration and selling cost saving and reduction (Southern company); Solutions to ensure sufficient supply of Phu My fertilizers (HCMC Branch); Current human resource practices and solutions to prepare human resource for upcoming projects.

Representing leaders of the Group, comrade Le Manh Hung appraised results that PVFCCo achieved in both Party activities and operating activities in the first 6 months of the year. In particular, the Vice President welcomed the effective support of experts in Phu My Urea Plant in the operation and maintenance of the plants in such subsequent oil and gas processes of the Group as petrochemical filtration at Dung Quat, fibrosis at PV Tex Dinh Vu, Ca Mau Urea. At the same time, comrade Le Manh Hung informed the Conference of global economic and petroleum situation and business conditions in 6 beginning months of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group. He also reminded the Corporation of issues related to corporate management, business administration, human resource management, production management and optimization, investment and implementation of research and development activities…. He also expressed his expectation that the leaders and staff of PVFCCo would strike to fully utilize results achieved in 6 beginning months and aggressively apply proposed solutions to successfully accomplish and reach the business targets for the whole 2014 early.

In the Conference agenda, the Executive Committee of the Party Union of the Corporation awarded the 30-year-Party-membership medal to comrade Tran Ngoc Vinh – Leader of the Party Unit of Office of the Corporation, Party Cell of Management Division, Deputy Secretary General of the Corporation. The Organizing Committee also announced the decision to reward and award the prizes to teams and individuals that won the 2nd session of “Business Ideas” Contest.

Comrade Le Cu Tan, acting on behalf of the Executive Committee of the Party Union, Board of Directors, and Chair Board of the Conference, received directions from leaders of the Group, reminds Party units and subsidiaries of the Corporation of aggressively taking solutions to accomplish and exceed the business goals and implement projects.
