On May 13, 2013, the Department of Business and Investment Management (Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development of Myanmar) officially granted license for establishing the representative office of Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) in Myanmar.
The PVFCCo’s representative office is located in Yangon, the former capital and the biggest city of Myanmar now.
In the coming time, the PVFCCo’s representative office will concentrate on building its relationships with local government and partners, promoting its image, brand, and products, supporting product exports to Myanmar, as well as participating in trade promotion activities between two countries.
Myanmar is a country with large agricultural – forestry land area, used to be a one of the largest rice producer and exporter. The annual total demand of fertilizer of Myanmar is approximately 1.5 million tons per year and expected to rise in the coming years because this country is now eager to increase the productivity remained below capacity in past years.
In addition to other potential markets such as Cambodia, Thailand, etc., PVFCCo has early put Myanmar into the list of its target markets since the country’s implementation of drastic changes on politics, economy, and society in the past few years.
