March 2017 marks the 14th anniversary of successful establishment and development of PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – stock code DPM, producer and trader of Phu My Fertilizers). In addition to active deployment of production, trading and investment activities to accomplish the 2017 plan, PVFCCo has constantly launched many meaningful activities of social work.
On the first day of March 2017, PVFCCo’s task force paid a visit to Cho Ray hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) to see and provide financial support for hospital charge to Mr. Duong Thanh Dung, who was seriously injured on February 17, 2017 when the Fishing vessel BV 94157 TS had its gas tank exploded and sank nearly 60 nautical miles offshore Vung Tau beach. The representative of PVFCCo warmly inquired Mr. Dung’s health and wished him quick recovery, also handed him the donation of VND30 million to help his family settle part of the hospital bill.
Then, on March 3, 2017, PVFCCo and the local authorities co-held the inauguration ceremony to hand over Hoang Vinh Primary School at Hoang Hoa District, Thanh Hoa Province for operation. The construction of Hoang Vinh Primary School was funded by PVFCCo’s sponsorship worth VND1.3 billion in total. It has 2 floors, 3 class rooms on the construction area of 166m2, fully equipped with teaching tools and instruments. This is the 150th school construction project sponsored by PVFCCo nationwide, contributing to the improvement of teaching and studying quality of local authorities and the education sector.
Apart from positive contributions to the education cause, supporting disadvantaged veterans is also one of the meaningful social work activities deployed by PVFCCo this month, bearing in mind “gratitude is the sign of noble souls”. On March 5&6, 2017 the two houses of “Team Gratitude” sponsored by PVFCCo were inaugurated and handed over to Mr. Ta Van Loi – Member of Veterans Association at Cam Thuy Hamlet, Thuy Van Commune, Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province and Mr. Nguyen Huu Chung, a veteran of Brigade No. 74, General Department No. 2, currently living at Ninh Khang Commune, Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh Province. These two houses are a part of the veterans’ 20 houses sponsorship program adopted by General Department No. 2, Ministry of Defense with the total value of VND1.4 billion (VND70 million/house).
Reportedly, since its establishment, PVFCCo has continuously launched a series of programs and activities of social work nationwide with total value of over VND800 billion. Tens of thousands of Great Solidarity Houses, charity houses, scholarships, subsidy for the poor; hundreds of schools, medical station construction works, etc. financed by PVFCCo over time have clearly reflected the realization of the motto “accountability – sharing” applied by PVFCCo and its products such as Phu My Urea, Phu My NPK, Phu My Kali, towards fellow farmers for a bountiful harvest and better life.
