Following the 2015 training programs and meetings on agriculture for excellent agricultural officers and farmers nationwide, on 1st August 2015, PVFCCo, Department of Crop Production and Vietnam-Japan Business Club jointly held the Workshop “Sustainable agricultural development based on Japanese advanced technologies”.
Attendees of the Workshop were Mr. Ma Quang Trung, Head of Department of Crop Production, Mr. Do Van Dung – Chairman of Vietnam-Japan Business Club, Standing member of the Central Executive Committee of Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association; Mr. Masaaki Koiwai – Chief Executive Officer of Japan Bio Farm Co, Ltd, and more than 100 excellent agricultural officers and farmers. PVFCCo’s representatives included Mr. Nguyen Hong Vinh – member of PVFCCo’s Board of Directors, Mr. Duong Tri Hoi, Vice President of PVFCCo.
Addressing the workshop, Mr. Ma Quang Trung emphasized the importance of industrialized agricultural development, production of farm products of stable and high quality, meeting standards of developed markets including Japan in order to increase export value and yield high profit to farmers. At the same time, leaders of Department of Crop Production also presented essays on various issues, such as methods of crop structure shifting, development of large-scale production based on regional advantages; Promotion of science and technology research and application domestically and abroad to boost productivity, reduce cost, and protect environment as well; Maintenance of growth rate and increased competitiveness of Vietnamese farm products by improving productivity and product quality to meet domestic demand and later for exports; Raising income and living standard for rural residents, ensuring food security in short and long term, contributing to poverty alleviation.
On the part of PVFCCo’s leaders, Mr. Duong Tri Hoi delivered the welcome speech and extended special thanks to the attendees for their participation in the workshop. He also hoped that the information from the Workshop would help agricultural officers and farmers in application at their localities. At the same time, he also reaffirmed that PVFCCo will always be a good partner of the national agriculture for the sustainable development of Vietnamese farm products.
At the Workshop, Mr. Masaaki Koiwai- the Japanese agricultural expert –provided attendees with useful information, practical experience from Japanese farmers in production of farm products of high quality and meeting international standards. Especially, his introduction of the soil analyzer drew great interest from the participants. This equipment is considered as a mobile lab, easy to use and giving results in a shorter time as compared with other methods in “conventional” labs.
Also according to the program agenda, the delegates visited Phu My Fertilizer Plant in Ba Ria- Vung Tau province. At the plant, as witnessing the modern production processes, the delegates expressed their satisfaction and high evaluation to the production scale and technologies of the plant, thereby totally trusted in the quality of Phu My urea products in particular and other Phu My fertilizer products supplied to the market in general by PVFCCo.
