On Jan 12th, 2017 at Phu My Fertilizer Plant, PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) held the Conference to review Health – Safety & Environment (HSE) activities in 2016 and HSE implementation in 2017.
Attendees included, from Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), Mr. Le Hong Thai – Head of HSE Department, from PVFCCo, Mr. Doan Van Nhuom – President & CEO and representatives of the Board of Management, corporate divisions, and employees working at HSE domain at PVFCCo and its affiliates.
After Mr. Hoang Viet Dung – PVFCCo’s Vice President had addressed the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Hung – Head of PVFCCo HSE Division – presented a report on 2016 HSE results and the plan for HSE in 2017. Reportedly, in 2016, all plants, works, warehouses and ports…were operated safely without any fatal work accidents or serious fire and explosion accidents. PVFCCo has well complied with the law and regulations on occupational health and safety, fire and explosion prevention as well as environmental protection. Furthermore, quality of Phu My fertilizer products has constantly been affirmed. It is worth noting that PVFCCo has successfully passed the appraisal for re-certification of its QHSE Management System; well maintained the 5S and STOP program at Phu My Fertilizer Plant and other units; and diversified communication types to raise employees’ awareness on HSE…, as a result, attracting interest and participation from PVFCCo employees.
However, the report also straightforwardly pointed out shortcomings in 2016 HSE activities, such as: Not integrating KPI, RBI and AIMS (Asset Integrity Management System) into the current QHSE Management Systemyet, as well as not building P&S (Protect & Sustain) system yet; Existing and new risks of corrosion and leakage of explosive gas as well as increased number of shut down incidents due to damage or overuse of equipment remain at Phu My Fertilizer Plant…
At the conference, attending representatives of member units also contributed a number of highly appreciated speeches.
Addressing the Conference, Mr. Le Hong Thai acknowledged the achieved targets and results in PVFCCo’s Business and HSE activities in 2016. Nevertheless, he also insisted that PVFCCo should draw the experience and rectify existing shortcomings in 2016, and warned PVFCCo of technology safety at Phu My Fertilizer Plant…
Addressing the closing ceremony, PVFCCo BOM expressed thanks to PVN’s leaders for close attention and prompt guidance, and would strictly follow PVN’s instructions. PVFCCo will specify PVN’s instructions in its detailed action plan in 2017.
Also at the Conference, Merit Certificates were awarded to 16 teams and 31 individuals for excellent HSE achievements in 2016.
