Continuing the many years of tradition, on the morning of September 21, 2021, PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemical Corporation (PVFCCo) held a meeting to celebrate the Corporation's Traditional Day. More than 120 connection points tuned in from across the country. In the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, PVFCCo's employees are still participating "3 on the spot", working online for many months. This is an extraordinary and emotional event, helping to underline the importance tradition and development process of PVFCCo and a valuable opportunity for PVFCCo's current employees and former employees to share, encourage, and express their ideas to each other. That is also the tradition and cultural beauty of the Corporation, of the oil and gas people.

Attending this online meeting were former leaders of the Corporation: Mr. Bi Van Tu – Former Director of the Project Management Board of Phu My Fertilizer Plant; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang – Former Member of the Board of Directors, former Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation; Mr. Phan Dinh Duc – Former Member of the Board of Directors of the Corporation. 

On the side of the PVFCCo, there were Mr. Hoang Trong Dung – Chairman of Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation; Mr. Le Cu Tan- Vice Chairman of Party Committee, General Director of PVFCCo;  Executive Committee of the Party Committee, the Executive Committee of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Board of General Directors, the Supervisory Board; Party Committee, leaders, representatives of member units, directly under the Corporation, Phu My Fertilizer Packaging Company; leaders, representatives of mass organizations, representatives of employees of the Corporation and divisions.

At the opening of the meeting, Mr. Hoang Trong Dung affirmed on September 21, 2004 – the date of the handover ceremony of Phu My Fertilizer Plant – a national project – from the Technip – Samsung contractor consortium to Petrochemical and Fertilizer Company – the predecessor of the Corporation, so that this date was chosen as the traditional day of PVFCCo. This has become an important milestone in the development history of our Corporation and the fertilizer industry in Vietnam. 17 years have passed, PVFCCo has constantly been developing and growing. From the place where there is only one factory producing a single fertilizer product, PVFCCo has implemented a series of projects, promoted research and development activities to now have a diversified production complex of various types of fertilizers. From producing only one chemical product, ammonia, to now a series of petroleum products, C02 gas, and actively participated in international business activities…, bringing the total annual production of fertilizers and chemicals to over 1 million tons of all kinds. At the same time, PVFCCo has built a network of partners distributed throughout the country and is continuing to reach out to the international market and a modern management system. 

Phu My Fertilizer brand ranks No. 1 in the fertilizer industry and one of Vietnam's 50 most valuable brands. These are excellent results during the past 17 years, and on this occasion, the Board of Directors has thanked all generations of employees, former leaders of the PVFCCo through the periods, officials who have worked for a long time and devoted their youth to the development of the PVFCCo. The Board of Directors vowed to continue the proud tradition that has been cultivated through generations. The Corporation will always be united, jointly identify challenges, innovate and develop strategies to timely adapt in the context of "green economy," "digital economy." The shift to renewable energy substantially impacts all aspects of the economy to bring the Corporation forward to a new chapter.

In response to Mr. Hoang Trong Dung, Mr. Le Cu Tan informed and shared about the implementation of the business plan in 2021; context, advantages, difficulties, response scenarios, and projected targets. Accordingly, although in 2021 we are facing a complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, we have to fight the outbreak while ensuring production and business. But with the efforts and consensus, within the past 9 months, PVFCCo has exceeded all the set targets, especially the policies and income for employees are guaranteed. The General Director also noted that in the last 3 months of the year, see the need to take advantage of the gas source to increase productivity, increase output to the maximum, speed up, and complete the project payment and settlement. He also noted that 2022 would be a challenging year in terms of input gas sources; the Covid-19 epidemic continues to be unpredictable… which requires us to develop careful and optimal plans and scenarios and unite to overcome difficulties.

There are many emotional stories about the tradition of PVFCCo, and the sincere suggestions and plans for the Corporation to continue to grow; from the former leaders of the Corporation: Mr. Bi Van Tu – Former Director of the Project Management Board of Phu My Fertilizer Plant; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang – Former Member of the Board of Directors, former Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation; Mr. Phan Dinh Duc – former General Director of PVFCCo; affirmed that the investment in the construction of Phu My Fertilizer Plant at that time was a brave and wise decision in the context of a tight budget. As a result, the contribution of PVFCCo has been proved as the right decision. From production to business; Building a modern factory with significant capacity to a solid distribution system throughout the country, loved and trusted by farmers, contributes to implementing the Tam Nong goal of the Party and the Government. At the same time, Phu My Fertilizer Plant is also the cradle of training a team of good staff, operating the production plants for the post-Petroleum stage at units in the Group and the fertilizer industry. The leaders advised the next generation to continue to promote the spirit of "fire seekers," continue to update development strategies to adapt to the new situation, diversify fertilizer and chemical products, petrochemicals, solutions to increase labor productivity, improve competitive performance, catch up with the clear and strong trend of agricultural development, 4.0 in the "post-Covid" period.

During the meeting, representatives of PVFCCo and employees shared their proud feelings during their years of working at PVFCCo, expressed gratefulness towards timely care of the Board of Directors of the Corporation and other units and organizations so that employees can feel secure in their work, thereby increasing their confidence, committed to making efforts to complete the assigned task.

PVFCCo's leadership also shared strategies in the coming time, restructuring, implementing key projects, and updating information and policies. 
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Hoang Trong Dung and Mr. Le Cu Tan sent their gratitude to the Board of Directors of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, former leaders of the PVFCCo over the years, to all employees of PVFCCo, respectfully accept the enthusiastic comments of the delegates and send best wishes to all representatives and their families.

It can be said that the great family of PVFCCo has gone through a meaningful online meeting program together, showing that despite the impact of the epidemic, we are far apart but not far from our hearts. Continue to preserve and promote the wonderful tradition of the Corporation which has been cultivated by generations of hard work over the years; strengthen solidarity, tighten discipline, be more creative in thinking, braver in decision-making, and more decisive in action, confidently look forward, seize opportunities, transform challenges into opportunities, create new miracles.
