In the evening of July 17, 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City, Light Your Hope Scholarship Foundation held the program “Gratitude to Compassionate Hearts” in honor and tribute to kind sponsors and also calling for community support in awarding scholarships to poor students. Attendees of the program included Mr. Nguyen Hung Dung – Vice President of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang – Vice Chairman of Vietnam Petroleum Association, former member of PetroVietnam Board of Directors. and on the part of PVFCCo – Mr. Tong Xuan Phong Chairman of PVFCCo Trade Union; Mr. Tran Van Dao – Chairman of PVFCCo’s Veteran Association.
During the program, Mr, Tong Xuan Phong, on behalf of PVFCCO, awarded a symbolic signboard for the donation of 2 billion VND to the Foundation in 2015.
Reportedly, Light Your Hope Scholarship Foundation was established in 2007 by members of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, operating on the voluntary and non-profit basis. In 06/2011, the Foundation was officially licensed by the Ministry of Home Affairs as a socialized fund. Over the last 8 years, the Foundation has helped 750 poor students realize their university dream, reinforcing their confidence to overcome their own difficulties and destiny. In the evening of July 16th, Light Your Hope Scholarship Foundation received more than 15 billion VND in contributions from enterprises for its activities.
