On 11/04/2012, the task force of PVFCCo, visited LySon Island, Quang Ngai Province, to see and givegifts to families of the twenty-one fishermen held under arrest on 03/03/2012 by China.
Joined in the task forcewere Ms Tran Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of PVFCCo’s Trade Union, Mr Tong Xuan Phong, Chief of Party CommitteeOffice, Mr Cao Trung Kien, Director of PVFCCo Central.
This wasone of PVFCCo’s social work activities. Reportedly,21 fishermen living in Ly Son District (Quảng Ngãi)werearrested on 03/03/2012 by Chinawhile they were fishing in waters of Vietnam’s ParacelIslands (Hoang Sa islands). Consideringthat the arrest by China is unreasonable, causing seriousadverse impacts to income and emotion of 21 fishermen families, PVFCCo’s leaders have decided to support21 families and share somedificultiescurrently burdening on them; also, on the other hand, encouraging Vietnamese fishermen stick to the sea and lawful fishing waters of Viet Nam.
