In the morning of 14 November 2014, the “Fertilizers and Chemicals in Agricultural Cultivation Conference” was held by the Trade Promotion Centre in Hanoi. This activity is included in the 14th International Agriculture Trade Fair (AgroViet 2014) program, themed “Vietnam Agriculture geared for High Value and Sustainable Development”. The Conference found the presence of PVFCCo’s representative, Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong – Vice President.
Other attendees of the conference included over 250 delegates from the Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development, Ministry of Industry & Trade, Vietnam Farmers” Association, Fertilizer Association of Vietnam, experts on fertilizers and chemicals related scientists, Department of Agriculture & Rural Development, Agricultural Promotion Center, Farmers’ Association and numerous farm owners, fertilizer producers and traders, and farmers in the Northern provinces.
Reports and speeches made at the Conference provided an overview of Vietnam’s current fertilizer market, information and experiences on the usage of fertilizers and chemicals in agricultural production to ensure efficiency and environmental protection, and simultaneously solutions to combat counterfeits, poor quality fertilizers and chemicals in Vietnam were discussed and proposed.
Addressing the Conference, Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong commented that Vietnam’s fertilizer market underwent extremely complex situation, with counterfeits produced and traded, poor quality fertilizers found nationwide, continuously and widely. To provide practical support to the farmers against these issues, PVFCCo not only produced Phu My urea but also processed and imported, in cooperation with reputable international fertilizer producers, high quality fertilizers such as NPK, DAP, potassium,…, with high nutrient content and appropriate with Vietnam’s crops and soil characteristics, so as to make available a complete set of qualified fertilizers to the farmers.
At the Conference, the Commemorative Medal in recognition of PVFCCo’s contribution to the success of the Trade Fair was awarded to Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong – PVFCCo’s representative, who inaugurated the Fair by ribbon cutting.
