At 8.00 pm, November 8th, Vietnam Rice Festival II 2011 with the theme “Honoring Vietnamese rice – green environment for the gold fields” was officially commenced on the floating stage between the Fresh Water Lake in cultural exhibition center Fresh Water Lake – “Ho Nuoc Ngot”, Soc Trang province. Attending the ceremony included Mr. Le Kha Phieu, former General Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam, the leaders and former leaders of the Party and State as well as the revolutionary elders. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh accompanied with the Minister of Industry and Trade, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and leaders of many provinces and cities around the country also joined the opening night.
Following the success from Vietnam Rice Festival I celebrated in 2009 in Hau Giang, Vietnam Rice Festival II 2011 was held from 08th to 11th November in Soc Trang province, aimed at “Honoring Vietnamese rice”, and considered as an important political, economic, cultural, social and tourism event to promote Soc Trang specialty rice particularly and Vietnam as a whole.
Attending the Festival as a silver sponsor (3 billion VND contribution ), PVFCCo strongly claimed its special interest in Vietnam’s agriculture, and Vietnam Rice Festival II was therefore one of the best occasion to set up a bond with and promote Urea Phu My and NPK Phu My brands to farmers in the Mekong Delta. With more than 200 m2 large area, PVFCCo booth was elaborately decorated and looked very eye-catching with the theme “For bountiful harvests” with attractive activities such as lucky draws, games participation with many valuable gifts has attracted a large number of visitors. In addition, the booth members also provided immediate knowledge on agriculture and useful guidance on how to use fertilizers efficiently for farmers. At the booth, PVFCCo also took advantage of this event to unveil the new PVCFC’s granular urea (Urea Ca Mau) by communicating product image and logo to farmers so that they could learn more about this product.
