PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – Stock code: DPM, producer and trader of Phu My fertilizer products) announcedthat on 26 and 27/10/2016, on behalf of all personnel, PVFCCo’s Trade Union directly awarded nearly 1,600 gifts worth VND 795 million to households severely hit by the historic flood in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces.

Accordingly, on October 26, PVFCCo’s Trade Union cooperated with local authorities to donate 800 gifts (equivalent to VND400 million) to households at two communes Phuc Trach and Huong Trach, Huong Khe District, Ha Tinh Province. On the next day 27/10, nearly 800 gifts (equivalent to VND 395 million) were donated to farmers at Dong Hoa Commune, Tuyen Hoa District, Quang Binh Province.

Mr. Tong Xuan Phong, Chairman of PVFCCo’s Trade Union said : “Upon learning that fellow-citizens of the Central region have been hard hit by the historic flood, PVFCCo’s personnel urgently carried out fundraising activities and consequently collected VND795 million in total. This reflects our sincere hearts wishing to join hands with victims to promptly remedy damage, restore production and stabilize their lives. 

At communes where PVFCCo’s Trade Union visited and donated gifts, leaders of local authorities shared the emotion of flood victims upon receiving the care and support of workers engaged in production of Phu My fertilizer which has closely accompanied fellow farmers for many years. Mr. Phan Hong Ly (70 years old) – patriarch of Loi Siem village (Phuc Trach Commune, Huong Khe District, Ha Tinh) said: “ I am deeply moved and thankful to PVFCCo’s personnel for supporting the poor suffering from heavy consequences caused by the flood just recently.”Mr. Ly continued “Those gifts are very valuable to me as well as the poor at this Commune as they help overcome difficulties ahead and will stabilize the life after the disaster.”

Reportedly, PVFCCo is one of active leaders in social work across the country with many regular activities implemented from 2008 until now. Until now, PVFCCo has built and handed over 20,000 Houses of Gratitude, more than 300 schools, hospitals, medical stations and carried out a wide range of relief activities to help victims of disasters, gratitude activities nationwide, worth nearly VND 800 billion in total. Beneficiaries are the poor in countryside, remote areas and those who have used and supported PVFCCo’s Phu My fertilizers.
