HCMC, January 10, 2013 – It was said that Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – DPM stock code) would offer 6,663 portions of gift with total values of 3.7 billion dongs to the poor at 32 provinces over the country on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2013.
The program was held from January 10, 2013 to middle of February, 2013 with the cooperation of Vietnam Red Cross Society and Vietnamese Fatherland Front. The receivers are Vietnamese heroic mothers, orphans, ethnic minorities in remote areas, poor households and farmers in difficult circumstances; households under preferential treatment policy, wounded soldiers, revolution war people, victims of Agent Orange; families without breadwinner, main income and livelihood.
List of receivers was chosen by the Vietnam Red Cross Society and Vietnamese Fatherland Front in coordination with local government. Each gift portion is valued at 300,000 to 500,000 dongs and comprised mostly cash and necessities for Lunar New Year.
The “Tet for the poor” is an annual social activity conducted since 2008 to support the poor people in difficult circumstances to welcome the full warmer Tet. Since its beginning, PVFCCo has spent nearly 9.4 billion for “Tet for the poor” program.
