On November 22, 2017, a “Toolbox Meeting” was held for the first time by the Management Board at Phu My Urea Plant as a part of its 2017 General Maintenance. This was a talk session to address special matters in relation to health and environmental safety in general maintenance and discuss topics on safety, construction method, and safety risk, etc. Among the attendants at the session, there were Mr. Ky Minh Tran – Deputy Director of the Plant and Lead Site Manager, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung – Deputy Director and Chairman of the Plant”s Labour Union, representatives of contractors, PMBs, and departments of the Plant, and approximately 1,000 officers and workers that were directly involved in general maintenance practices.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh – Head of Safety and Security Department of the Plant – summarized and discussed on-site High Potential Exposures with officers and workers, including: Work at Height, Confined Space, Hazardous Energy, Hot Work, Chemical Exposure Work, and Classification of Wastes, etc. Since this was an open meeting, general maintenance teams, contractor”s agents, experts, and safety officers, etc. shared their concerns and opinions on on-site risk practices and clearly explained safety regulations. It is expected that Toolbox Meeting Program will be held in 03 sessions as a part of general maintenance, 1st session on November 22, 2017, 2nd session on December 11, 2017, and 3rd session on December 22, 2017.
Speaking at the meeting on behalf of the Management Board of the Plant, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung said thanks to contractors and support experts from other plants in the industry for their presence at Phu My Urea Plant to accompany the staff of PVFCCo and successfully accomplish 2017 General Maintenance, focusing on “Safety – Quality – Progress – Effectiveness” target.
