November 22, in Orenburg City (the Russian Federation) Petrovietnam and Gazprom jointly held two important events marking the development of the bilateral relationship.
Mr. Phung Dinh Thuc – Petrovietnam’s Chairman of the Board Members with Mr. Vitaly Markelov – Vice Chairman together performed the formal launch ceremony to put the borehole number 3 of Nagumanov gas well into operation. Attending and witnessing this event was Mr. Pham Xuan Son – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Ambassador Pham Xuan Son and the mission of Petrovietnam & Gazprom had had a meeting with Mr. Valery Rogozhkin – Deputy Governor, First Vice Chairman of Orenburg province. The two sides had exchanged on traditional long-standing friendship between the two countries and expressed their hope that oil and gas cooperation would obtain more efficiency in this area.
On the same day’s afternoon, at the headquarters of Gazprom in Orenburg City took place the 5th Regular conference of the Joint coordination committee between Petrovietnam and Gazprom chaired by the two co-Chairmen of the committee, Mr. Vitaly Markelov – Vice Chairman of Gazprom and Mr. Nguyen Vu Truong Son – Deputy General Director of Petrovietnam.
The two sides expressed satisfaction for effective operation of both joint-venture Vietgazprom and Gazpromviet in 2012; together discuss issues related to joint projects of the two sides in Vietnam and the Russian Federation to develop offshore projects in Vietnam as well as Nagumanov and North Purovskoe areas, continue to expand cooperation in the field of training and re-training. The conference also pays special attention to potential projects in using liquefied petroleum gas for motor in Vietnam with the supplies from Vladivostok.
An agreement has been signed by Mr. Vitaly Markelov – Vice Chairman of Gazprom and Mr. Nguyen Vu Truong Son – Deputy General Director of Petrovietnam at the meeting to concretize and expand scientific and technical cooperation in the exploration, extraction, transportation, transfer, storage and processing of petroleum products.
The two sides also agreed on the action plan for 2013 of the Joint Coordination Committee.
