In the afternoon of October 23, 2015, in Hanoi and broadcast online in Quy Nhon, HCMC, BRVT, Can Tho, IFA (International Fertilizer Industry Associations) and PVFCCo co-operated in holding the program titled “Exchanging Information on the World’s fertilizer market trend to 2019”.
Attendees of the program, from IFA, included Mr. Michel Prud’Homme, Senior Director, Production and International Trade; from State administration agencies, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Cuong – Vice Director of Department of Crop Production, Mr. Nguyen Tri Ngoc, former Director of Department of Crop Production, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of General Council of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Phung Ha – former Director of Department of Chemicals, representatives of Import & Export Department, Domestic Market Department, representatives of PVN and major fertilizer traders around the country; from PVFCCo, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong – President & CEO of PVFCCo, Vice Chairman of IFA as well as members of BOD, BOM, leaders of divisions and member companies.
At the beginning of the program, Mr. Michel Prud’Homme provided practical information on prospects of the world fertilizer market, innovation trend of the fertilizer industry and IFA’s co-operation programs in Vietnam. Then, delegates actively raised questions with Mr. Prud’Homme about issues such as: factors affecting fertilizer prices, organic fertilizers trends, time-released fertilizers and controlled release fertilizers trends, supply – demand of fertilizers in each region and for each type… These questions have been explained and satisfactorily answered by Mr. Michel Prud’Homme. Also, delegates discussed on other issues including impacts of the world’s fertilizer situation on the domestic fertilizer production, new fertilizers trends, fertilizers and genetically modified crops….
Mr. Cao Hoai Duong also provided a brief introduction on the organizational structure, operation method and importance of IFA and expressed sincere thanks to Mr. Michel Prud’Homme for his valuable share of important information helpful to administration agencies in planning policies and to domestic enterprises in planning production and developing products to suit the market demand.
Reportedly, IFA is a prestigious international organization with nearly 600 members from 80 countries – most of them are major companies operating in the fields relating to fertilizer production and trading. In recent years, PVFCCo has actively engaged in IFA’s activities and made important contributions to development of IFA in South East Asia.
