On September 26, 2015, in Vung Tau City, the Trade Union of PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) organized the 6th music contest – in 2015 entitled “Singing for Bountiful Harvest”. The holiday attracted approximately 300 performers representing 12 teams from PVFCCo members around the country.

The festival was attended by guests including Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang – Permanent Vice Chairman of Vietnam Petroleum Association; Mr. Tran Ngoc Dung – Permanent Vice Chairman of PetroVietnam Trade Union. Leadership of PVFCCo included: Mr. Le Cu Tan – Secretary of Party Committee and Board Chairman of PVFCCo; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien – Member of Standing Committee of Party Committee and Vice Chairwoman; Mr. Tong Xuan Phong – Chairman of PVFCCo Trade Union; members of the Executive Committee of PVFCCo Party Committee, BOD, BOM, leadership of members and division/departments of PVFCCo.

During the contest, PVFCCo staff enjoyed 52 featured items of musical performance from the teams. The items were staged elaborately with professional and impressive performances covering various themes: praising the glorious Party and beloved Uncle Ho, praising the love for homeland, sea and islands, oil and gas industry, agriculture and rural land; especially, there are prideful and loving home-grown items about the joint family – PVFCCo. Among them, many teams’ performances left strong impressions when the leaders joined with the employees to perform on stage, presenting the connection, solidarity, affection and harmony in the great family of PVFCCo.

At 19.00 PM on the same day, the contest night took place with 15 best musical items selected by the Board of Examiners and the Organizer. With themes including “songs for the homeland”, “praising sea and islands”, “pride in PVFCCo – For bountiful harvest”, the night was truly an event of lively colorful musical performance, bringing about an exciting, active and joyful atmosphere for the mass audience – PVFCCo employees crowding the auditorium. Especially, the Project Management Unit, although just recently established, joined the performance.

The Board of Examiners including prestigious artists i.e., People’s Artist Kim Quy, Meritorious Artist Quynh Lien and Musician Nguyen Duc Trung worked with utmost devotion and fairness to select prize winners among performing teams and individuals. There were 14 Gold prizes, 14 Silver prizes and 14 Copper prizes. For collective prizes, the Board of Examiners awarded 2 First prizes, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 3 Consolationprizes with detailed results as follows:

Additionally, the Organizer also awarded 2 movement prizes to PVFCCo Branch in HCMC (with more than 50% employees joining the performance) and PVFCCo SW (with the most participating employees and leaders), 3 prizes to home-grown works about PVFCCo and 1 prize “Unique Performance” to PVFCCo North’s Trade Union’s Musical Team.

The contest was a great success. It was not only a wonderful playground for PVFCCo staff but also a cultural festival to tighten the solidarity, understanding and sharing among PVFCCo members, promoting and highlighting PVFCCo tradition and brand. Besides, the contest was also a labor energy revitalizing source, an opportunity for staff from all regions to gather and exchange, an environment for colleagues to have better understanding of and closer connection to each other and PVFCCo. All of the above created a beautiful picture of the distinctive Music Contest “the 6th Singing for Bountiful Harvests– 2015”.
