The IFA’s 82th Annual Conference took place from May 26th to May 28th 2014 in Sydney, Australia, attended by 1,100 delegates from producers, traders and distributors of fertilizes and materials for fertilizer production. The delegation of PVFCCo at the Conference was led by Mr. Cao Hoai Duong – President & CEO.

The Conference was aimed at re-evaluating results achieved by the fertilizer industry in 2013, discussing and presenting evaluation, analysis and forecast on the fertilizer industry for the coming time.

2014 marks the benchmark of PVFCCo’s 10 years participating in IFA as a qualified member. Especially, at this Conference, IFA has officially appointed Mr. Cao Hoai Duong, PVFCCo”s President & CEO to hold the position of IFA”s Vice president in charge of East Asia region (including: Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia and Myanmar). This was the official appointment and introduction after IFA Council temporarily appointed Mr. Cao Hoai Duong as IFA”s Vice President at the Conference in November 2013. The regional Vice President of IFA will represent fertilizer producers and traders in the region to contribute advice, information, ideas to the fulfillment of IFA’s operation strategies as well as act on behalf of IFA to promote the image and activities of IFA in the region. The appointment of Mr. Cao Hoai Duong as IFA’s Vice Chairman, East Asia is not only an honor to PVFCCo, but also reflects PVFCCo’s responsibility to the fertilizer production – business community in the world.

At the Conference, PVFCCo”s delegation also attended group discussions and seminars on 3 major groups of nutrients for plants – Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium. During discussion, the topics were mainly focused on analysis, evaluation of production and supply capacity as well as consumption demand for the fertilizers containing the 3 groups of nutrients.

In addition, PVFCCo also agreed to continue participating in the IFA Strategic Task Force Team – consisting of IFA Council members to assist IFA in locating and presenting new action strategies for the 3 main objectives, including: more intensive and extensive connection to every member; more accurate analysis and outlining of regional and making more effective and transparent decisions.

Besides, at the Conference, PVFCCo”s delegation also held meetings with partners such as: Uralkali, Mitsubishi, Willsion, CF Industries, Sojitz…
