On August 9, 2023, at Phu My Fertilizer Complex, a part of PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – stock code DPM), was awarded the “Excellent Operation Certificate” by Haldor Topsoe A/S (Denmark), the technology licensor for Ammonia (NH3) production. This marks the third time that Phu My Fertilizer Complex has received this certification.
According to the equipment monitoring system at Phu My Fertilizer Complex, the NH3 production Unit has operated continuously and steadily for 678 days and nights without interruption. This record was only broken on March 28, 2023, when the entire complex was proactively shut down for a comprehensive maintenance period. This achievement surpasses the previous record of 279 days set in 2016. To attain this success, credit goes to the effort, expertise, and creative labor from Phu My’s leadership team to the workforce at Phu My Fertilizer Complex.
Mr. Amrul Atiqi Sansudin, the Director of Haldor Topsoe Asia, presented the Excellent Operation Certificate to the representative of Phu My Fertilizer Plant.
The Ammonia Unit is one of the most crucial production units, often referred to as the heart of the Phu My Fertilizer Complex. It began operations in 2004 with an initial designed capacity of 450,000 tons per year, which was later increased to 540,000 tons per year in 2018. The NH3 unit supplies raw materials to both the Phu My Urea Plant and Phu My NPK Plant, while also meeting a significant portion of the domestic NH3 demand.
During the Certificate Awarding Ceremony, representatives from Haldor Topsoe expressed that Phu My Fertilizer Complex’s continuous operation of the NH3 Unit for 678 days and only stopping for comprehensive maintenance is an extremely impressive achievement. Among the various complexes globally utilizing Haldor Topsoe’s technology, Phu My Fertilizer Complex stands out as one of the best-performing facilities.
In addition to the certificate presentation, both parties also discussed technical matters related to the maintenance and operation of the NH3 Units’s equipment in the upcoming period.
