In the afternoon of 1/3/2012, PVFCCo, Petrovietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Company Limited (PVCFC), PVFCCo SW in co-operation with Hau Giang Province Plant Protection Sub-Department organized a workshop to summarize the model of granular urea experimentation on the IR 50404 rice variety in the winter-spring crop at Vi Thuy District, Hau Giang Province. This was the second workshop held in this week.
Attendees of the workshop included Mr. Tran Ngoc The – Director of Plant Protection Sub-Department, representatives of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Agricultural Encouragement centers, Plant Protection Centre, Farmers’ Union, provincial television and other mass media, wholesalers in the Phu My Urea distribution system along with more than 130 local farmers.
Addressing the workshop, Mr. Tran Ngoc The – Director of Sub-Department said “this is the fourth experimental model implemented and reviewed by the Sub-Department in co-operation with the Company, the other three previous models were carried out in the 2011 winter-spring rice crop.Monitoring, scientific research and evaluation results showthat with the granular ureaexperimental model, growth ratios of plants: plant height, number of plants/ m2, number of filled grains per panicle, rice productivity and pest control observation are all good, the productivity is equal or better than that of mass popular fields.”
As the head of the provincialadministrationagency, Mr. The recommendedtheusage of granular urea of Ca Mau and Phu My Fertilizer Plant to fully replace imported urea. He also requested the Company to carry outmore modelsand more workshops ondifferent locationsand differentcrops so that fellow farmers can see with their own eyes. This method would be very pratical and highly effective.
