In the rice crop of 2012, PVFCCo’s branch in Cambodia has coordinated with Agriculture Department of Kampot Province, CPC to implement 3 demonstrations on effective use of Phu My Urea on rice plant. This crop is considered to be the largest cultivated area in Cambodia as the majority of agricultural land area is provided with rainwater. Currently, it has come the fertilizing phase on cultivation area which makes technicians of PVFCCo collaborate with local Agriculture Department to organize the workshop on “Cultivating technical transfer and guidance on effective use of Phu My Urea” to promote the sales and brand images of Phu My Urea.
Attending the conference were Mr. Chanh Rith – Deputy Director of Agriculture Department of Kampot Province, others officials from the same Department as well as local authorities, leaders from the co-operative organizing the demonstration and more than a hundred of farmers and distributors.
After visiting the performance of Phu My urea and joining the conference, Mr. Chanh Rith highly evaluated the implementation of PVFCCo’s model which allows either farmers or local technical officers to directly get involved in the process and to be transferred with technical advances through number of integrating workshops as well as to exchange experience with technical officers from PVFCCo.
Recently, a number of Cambodian farmers in some regions have started approaching the advanced production methods and using of fertilizers to increase rice productivity. However, it still needs to further strengthen the technical transfer process in addition to product introduction and sales supporting activities in key farming areas to widely promote the brand image of Phu My Urea in Cambodian market.
