The Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo) is known for its active engagement in community support and sustainable development. As a major player in Vietnam’s chemical and fertilizer industry, PVFCCo not only focuses on its business operations but also strongly emphasizes corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, contributing to the well-being of local communities.
Educational support
One of PVFCCo’s most notable contributions is its education and healthcare infrastructure support. On September 28, 2024, PVFCCo, in partnership with PetroVietnam, inaugurated a newly renovated two-story classroom block and multifunctional facility at Quang Tien Junior High School in Ba Don Town, Quang Binh Province.
This project, to which PVFCCo donated VND5 billion, provides students and teachers with modern classrooms equipped with necessary facilities like anti-glare boards, computers, and other learning tools.
This initiative aims to improve the quality of education in rural areas, ensuring a conductive learning environment. Speaking at the inauguration, a PVFCCo representative emphasized the company’s role in Vietnam’s agricultural and food security sectors, while also recognizing the importance of fostering future generations through improved educational infrastructure.
On August 24, 2024, at My Trung Primary School, My Loc District, Nam Dinh Province, PVFCCo organized the inauguration and handover ceremony for the Multipurpose Building and its auxiliary items to the school.
This multipurpose building, funded by PVFCCo with a total value of VND5 billion, was newly constructed with a total building area of 458.75 square meters, fully equipped with functional areas to support physical education activities such as a training floor, stage, equipment room, and dressing room. The project also includes auxiliary works such as the main gate, fence, and a concrete yard of over 200 square meters.
Just two days later, on August 26 in Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province, PVFCCo inaugurated and handed over the construction of a two-story, six-classroom building for Trung Vuong Kindergarten.
The project had a total investment of over VND7.4 billion, with PVFCCo contributing VND4.5 billion. The building includes five classrooms and one meeting hall with a total floor area of 450 square meters, fully equipped with modern devices, creating the best conditions for teaching and learning for teachers and students alike.
In addition, PVFCCo recently completed the construction of a multifunctional house at Nua Junior High School and a medical station in Thanh Hoa Province. These projects, worth VND8 billion in total, were co-funded by PVFCCo and PVTrans. This investment ensures that both the educational and healthcare needs of the local population are met, enhancing their quality of life.
Beyond education, PVFCCo is committed to cultural and community development. In June 2024, PVFCCo funded the construction of a 350-seat Community Cultural House in Bui La Nhan Commune, Ha Tinh Province. This facility serves as a central venue for community gatherings, cultural events, and social activities, filling a critical need in the region.
According to local leaders, this project not only enriches the cultural life of the commune but also aids in meeting national rural development standards. PVFCCo’s commitment to supporting cultural initiatives reflects its broader mission of fostering sustainable, well-rounded community growth.
Agricultural assistance and sustainable practices
Given PVFCCo’s deep ties to agriculture, the company has always centered on supporting farmers and promoting sustainable farming practices. In August 2024, PVFCCo donated one ton of Phu My NPK fertilizer to farmers in Chau Duc District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, to help them prepare for the planting season. The fertilizer was carefully selected to match the local soil conditions, ensuring optimal crop yield.
Beyond material support, PVFCCo regularly conducts educational workshops for farmers, focusing on the use of high-quality fertilizers and modern farming techniques. In July 2024, PVFCCo volunteers also helped repair electrical systems in ethnic minority households in the same district, demonstrating the company’s commitment to improving living conditions for underserved populations.
A strong backer of the community
With over VND1.2 trillion invested in social welfare since its founding, PVFCCo remains a trusted partner in building a more sustainable and prosperous future for all.
To date, tens of thousands of Great Solidarity houses, hundreds of school buildings, hospitals, and medical stations have been constructed; tens of thousands of scholarships have been awarded to students; and tens of thousands of Tet gifts have been handed directly to poor and disadvantaged people.
These projects, alongside countless other community initiatives, underscore PVFCCo’s dedication to improving educational access in disadvantaged regions.
PVFCCo’s focus on both business success and social responsibility makes it a strong advocator for sustainable development in Vietnam. From improving rural schools and healthcare centers to supporting farmers and fostering cultural growth, PVFCCo has consistently demonstrated its commitment to community development.
By ensuring that its business activities align with the well-being of local communities, PVFCCo reinforces the idea that long-term success comes from economic achievements and meaningful social contributions.
