Hochiminh City, June 05, 2014 – PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – stock code DPM), the producer and trader of Phu My fertilizers and chemicals has just co-ordinated with the Navy Command in organizing the ceremony on handing over and launching the Truong Sa CQ-01 motorboat.

The Truong Sa CQ-01 motorboat costs VND 3.5 billion, built by X70 Factory of Navy Engineering Department. The boat can run at a speed of 20 nautical miles per hour, with payload of over 01 ton, carry 15 persons at max, helping transport passengers and cargo back and forth between islands . The boat is designed and built with advanced technology, can slide on coral and cobble stone, highly resistant to sinking, leaking or deformation upon collision impacts. Especially, the boat can run through waves, resist 1 – 2 higher wave levels as compared with popular boats.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Le Cu Tan – Party Secretary and BOD Chairman of PVFCCo, said:“Given the escalating tense situation in the East Sea at the moment, PVFCCo has actively cooperated with X70 Factory in boosting the finishing, handover of the motorboat for operation, in the effort to contribute an effective tool for transport, supply and patrol tasks of our Navy troops, especially at Spratly islands.”

Rear Admiral Dinh Gia That, Party Secretary of the Navy Command, on behalf of Navy soldiers has thanked the noble affection and gesture of PVFCCo personnel for the Navy Force, especially soldiers and people working at Truong Sa Island District. The Navy”s Party Secretary also said that the new motorboat would be delivered to  soldiers and people at Truong Sa Island District as soon as possible, helping encourage our soldiers to remain on high alert, firmly protecting the sea and island sovereignty of the country.

Since last month when China placed the Haiyang 981 (HD-981) oil rig inside Vietnam”s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf, PVFCCo is one of the pioneers repeatedly launching support programs to assist the Navy, Vietnam Coast Guard, Fisheries Resources Surveillance forces. Previously, on May 10, 2014, PVFCCo handed over the HP47 high-speed patrol boat worth VND 12 billion to Vietnam Coast Guard and donated VND 300 million funded by PVFCCo personnel in support of Vietnam Coast Guard and Fisheries Resources Surveillance.

The CQ 01 motorboat worth VND 3.5 billion has raised the total value of PVFCCo”s sea and island support programs to nearly VND 33 billion over the last few years. Apart from direct sponsorship programs, PVFCCo also wishes to disseminate the spirit “For the seas and islands of our country” to customers and the society through customer-oriented activities. In specific, from this mid-June, the packaging of all Phu My fertilizers supplied by PVFCCo to the market will show the contents of promotion and pride in support of our seas and islands. For direct users being fellow farmers, representing more than 70% of the national population, this is deemed as a way of strong and widespread promotion throughout the society.
