Ho Chi Minh City, 01 December 2014– PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – stock code: DPM), producer and trader of Phu My fertilizer products, publicly announced that many education support projects worth up to VND 6 billion were completed by PVFCCo in November, 2014.
Accordingly, on 19 November 2014, PVFCCo inaugurated the construction works of Quan The Primary School at Phuoc Minh Commune, Thuan Nam District, Ninh Thuan Province. The construction was commenced in June, 2014 with total investment capital of VND 3.7 billion, VND 3.5 billion of which was sponsored by PVFCCo. The school has its total usable area of 630 m2, including a two-storied grade III building with 8 classrooms. All classrooms are fully equipped with desks, chairs, equipment and learning tools for pupils. Reportedly, Phuoc Minh Commune in Ninh Thuan Province is an underdeveloped agricultural commune with most residents from Cham ethnic group. The construction of Quan The Primary School helps alleviate the shortage of schools and classes at this commune, facilitating the education of ethnic minority children.
Then, on 27 November 2014, PVFCCo inaugurated the dormitory for Chieu Luu Junior High School’s day-boarders at Ky Son District, Nghe An Province with total investment capital of VND 2 billion. The construction facility covers an area of 285.5m2, including a 2-storied building with 4 rooms on each floor. Ky Son, a remote district of Nghe An Province bordering Laos, has ethnic minorities representing over 90% population. The inauguration of Chieu Luu Junior High School’s dormitory helps settle day-boarders’ requirement, and is a meaningful event for the school and its pupils.
In the morning of 28 November 2014, the public service building for Do Luong 4 Senior High School’s teachers sponsored by PVFCCo was officially brought into use. The building is worth VND 800 million in total, including VND 500 million sponsored by PVFCCo. It covers an area of 234m2 with 5 well-equipped rooms, meeting the demands of the School’s teachers. This is one out of ten public service buildings sponsored by PVFCCo in 2014 with total investment capital of VND 5 billion.
PVFCCo is the leading enterprise in Vietnam in the manufacturing and trading of fertilizers and chemicals, and also one of pioneers in social responsibility. Since its foundation, PVFCCo has sponsored more than VND 700 billion for social security programs in healthcare, education, great solidarity house construction, humanitarian relief and “Repaying debts of gratitude”. In 2014, PVFCCo has allocated VND 90 billion for social security activities, in which education is the main area with total sponsorship value of nearly VND 54 billion.
