In HCMC, on March 23, 2016 – PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo – Stock Code DPM, Phu My fertilizer producer and trader) announced the deployment of a VND 5 billion relief program to support nationwide farmer households suffering heavily from saltwater intrusion, drought, and damagingcoldspells.
Accordingly, from Mar 21, 2016 to Apr 30, 2016, PVFCCo and its member units – in cooperation with local authorities, Vietnam Fatherland Frontier, and Red Cross Society – directly donatedapproximately 10,000 gifts to farmer households at nearly 50 communes in 19 cities and provinces nationwide. In particular, PVFCCo handed essential gifts for farmers to help them restoreproduction activities, including: 66,000 fuel vouchers with total value of approximatey VND 1.8 billion for agriculturalmachine, well digging machine, and fresh water pumps fight offsaltwater intrusionand drought; 300 tons of Phu My fertilizers worthover VND 3.2 billion for the upcoming crop season. Depending on region, each farmer household was given either 25 kg of NPK Phu My or 50 kg of DAP Phu My and fuel voucher worth VND 100,000 or VND 200,000. PVFCCo also cooperated with functional agencies to hold training programs guiding farmers on appropriate care for cropsunder suchharsh weather.
Reportedly, since the end of 2015, our country has continuously suffered natural disasters and harsh weather, e.g. Northern Vietnam has suffered severe coldspells at record, while Central Vietnam – Western Highland and Southern Vietnam have suffered saltwater intrusionand drought. Various provinces have declared their natural disasterstatus; and with this VND 5 billion relief program, PVFCCo is one among the first enterprises responding to the Government’s and local authorities’ call forhelping farmers – most suffering victim due to saltwater intrusion, drought, and severe coldspells.

Since its establishment, PVFCCo has donated more than VND 800 billion to social welfare programs in healthcare, education, construction of great solidarity house, humanitarian aid and gratitude activities.
